Food for thought?

    Consider the following carefully:

Is it possible that one or more of your employees may be stealing from you?

Do you suspect that any of your employees on long term sick leave may be having you on?

Does stock mysteriously seem to go missing?

Do your shop tills regularly show unexplained discrepancies?

Are any of your employees moonlighting?

Is an ex employee stealing your clients/contracts illegally?

Is some of your merchandise failing to arrive at its final destination?

If you can answer no to all the above questions then you are in the lucky minority of employers who has a completely trustworthy and loyal workforce and you will have no need of our services. For the rest of us, our stock, money and reputation could be walking out of the back door right now without us even realising it.

So…… how can Pilgrim Elite Ltd help you?

Below are a few real examples of how we have helped clients to identify and deal with some of these types of problems.

Case History 1; Employee Theft.

Company A had a large stock warehouse and a finely balanced profit margin. They called in Pilgrim Elite after suspecting but not proving, a case of employee fraud. After discreet covert surveillance, Pilgrim Elite gave the Board of Directors evidence that a small ring of employees were conducting theft and re-sale of expensive stock. Pilgrim Elite discovered a lock up where stolen company stock was being stored and the Police were called in to make the arrests. A number of the gang were charged with a variety of offences and all were dismissed from the company. A large quantity of stolen merchandise was recovered from two houses, a lock up garage and a number of vehicles.

Case History 2; Employee Absenteeism.

Company B had a large annual wage bill for their highly trained staff. One employee was on long term sick leave, which the management suspected was for a contrived injury. Through covert surveillance, Pilgrim Elite gained video evidence to show that the employee's physical activities were incompatible with his alleged 'injury'. This evidence was given to the management, was supported by medical advice and then presented to an Industrial Tribunal. The employee was subsequently dismissed, saving Company B the cost of paying his wages and expensive 'stand-in' staff.

Case History 3; Abuse of Trust

The boss at company C became suspicious that certain sales calls on a particular employees daily van rounds were not being made. A number of customers were dropping into the conversation that they didn’t think that the company van came round as often anymore. A combination of vehicle tracking and video surveillance proved that this employee had actually been using the company vehicle and time to build himself a rally car and further his fishing hobby!! He was confronted with the evidence and dismissed. An amount of company stock was also recovered from his garage.

Quote from MD Company A ‘We are very grateful to Pilgrim Elite for all they have done in bringing this situation to a close. Not only have we been able to rid ourselves of our dishonest workforce, and recover a substantial amount of stock, but this has acted as a great deterrent to the other staff members. We were also able (on the advice of Pilgrim Elite) to plug a number of security gaps in our stock system that we were hitherto unaware of.’

Case History 4; Fraudulent Injury Claim

We were instructed by a law firm to provide video evidence of an individual who was claiming in the region of £250,000 off his previous employer (a large parcel delivery company). The subject was claiming for an ankle injury that he suffered when a metal cage rolled into him in the warehouse. His claim was that he could neither drive, nor walk properly. The subject also claimed that he was unable to wash or dress himself without his wife's help. It was also claimed that because of this injury he had been unable to work for a number of years and his wife had also had to give up her job to look after him. He further claimed to be unable to help his wife around the house or in the garden. Once instructed Pilgrim Elite produced video evidence of the claimant manually digging the garden on his smallholding, as well as operating and jumping in and out of a digger machine. We also gained video evidence of the claimant driving the family car and repeatedly pushing a fully loaded wheelbarrow. The law firm were over the moon with the results and a massively reduced and more realistic settlement for the case was subsequently agreed.
